Hospital Comments

Intensive Care Unit Physician Staffing (IPS)

We currently have a "Hospitalist" program, that includes 3 - 4 Board Certified Internal Medicine physicians. Because we are a Critical Access Hospital - we have a very small ICU - 4 beds only - and do not treat patients with extreme illness (we transfer them) - do treat ventilator patients.

General Comments on Patient Safety Activities

FMEA on ER patient that left without being seen - process improvements decreased %'s to 1.5%. Reminders for Patients to help keep themselves safe. Policy improvements - Patient ID's, Unapproved abbreviations, etc.
