Open Heart Surgery

SJMH participates in a STS/BCBSM Collaborative, using the STS data to identify and mesure quality improvement activities. In addition, SJMH is participating in the Keystone ICU project aimed at reducing erros and improving patient outcomes in the ICU through application of evidence based practices and Quality Improvement efforts.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair

Enrolled in National Surgical Quality Improvement Project and Michigan Surgical Consortium

Carotid Endarterectomy Surgery

Enrolled in National Surgical Quality Improvement Program. Enrolled in Michigan Surgical Consortim but have not submitted 1 year's worth of data.

Intensive Care Unit Physician Staffing (IPS)

The Medical Intensive Unit meets all criteria for ICU. The Surgical Intensive Care is currently interviewing for intensivist coverage. Both ICU's have FCCS trained staff available. MICU participates in Impact Data Base. Sicu is participating in NSQIP.There is a multidisciplinary team for reviewing and problem solving issues and all ICU's participate in the Keystone project.
